ALAMEDA COUNTY SECURED ROLL PROPERTY TAXES DUE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021 More than 443,000 secured roll property tax bills for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 amounting to $4.6 billion are being mailed this month by Alameda County Treasurer and Tax Collector, Henry C. Levy, to all real property owners on record in the Alameda County Assessor’s Office. The secured roll taxes due are payable in two installments. The first installment will be due on November 1, 2020 and is delinquent at 5 p.m. December 10, 2020, after which a 10% delinquent penalty attaches. The second installment will be due on February 1, 2021 and is delinquent at 5 p.m. April 12, 2021 as April 10, 2021 is a Saturday (RTC Sec.2619), after which a 10% delinquent penalty and $10 cost attaches. Both installments may be paid when the first installment is due. There are several payment options while the Tax Collector’s offices are closed to the public: • by eCheck, available free of charge 24 hours a day online at www.acgov.org/treasurer/ • by credit card with fee, available 24 hours a day by telephone at 510-272-6800, online at www.acgov.org/treasurer/, or mobile property app at www.acgov.org/mobile/apps/ • by mail or drop box for check payment only at the entrance of the County Administration Building located at 1221 Oak Street, Oakland, CA 94612, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, holidays excepted. Do not drop cash in the drop box. • by the mail slot for check payment only at the Business License Office in Hayward, 224 W. Winton Ave., Room 169, Hayward CA, 94544 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Do not drop cash in the mail slot. • online payments, telephone or mail are recommended to avoid delay at the cashier’s window Real property owners who have not received their tax bill by November 16, 2020 should contact Tax Collector’s Office by calling (510) 272-6800, writing to the office, or downloading an internet copy at www.acgov.org/treasurer/. Tax bills received for property no longer owned should be forwarded to the new owner or returned to the Tax Collector’s Office. Supplemental Tax Bills are additional tax liabilities due to a reassessment of property values and the due dates are on the bills mailed to property owners.
